Mr. Harris is a founding member of the Firm. He focuses his practice on all aspects of technology law and intellectual property law, including domestic and international trademark prosecution, trademark opinions and counseling, due diligence, copyright and trade secret law. He has extensive experience in transactions involving technology licensing, including software licensing, ERP, SCM and CRM implementations, software development agreements and confidentiality matters.
Mr. Harris has extensive legal and related business experience in the technology industry. Prior to forming Marcus Stephen Harris LLC, he spent over 3 years with the Legal/Contracts Department of SAP America where he negotiated hundreds of technology related agreements with SAP's Fortune 500 client base.
Mr. Harris was also Senior Corporate Counsel in charge of intellectual property at SSA Global Technologies where he developed and managed an extensive international trademark and patent portfolio, managed intellectual property litigation, conducted intellectual property due diligence and reviewed advertising material to verify compliance with legal requirements. During law school Mr. Harris completed an advanced externship at the United States Copyright Office in Washington D.C.
Mr. Harris is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association and the Technology Executives Club.
Ms. Chawla is Of Counsel to the Firm and Executive Counsel of Optimus Law
Group. She concentrates her practice on all aspects of business immigration
law, including obtaining employment and investor-based visas for professionals,
companies, and businesspersons wishing to relocate to the U.S. or the U.K.
She has advised corporate clients and individuals on the immigration consequences
of relocating abroad.
Ms. Chawla has been published in the New York Law Journal and trade magazines on immigration matters. She also has extensive experience in international intellectual property issues, including trademark prosecution and technology licensing matters in the UK and European Union.
Ms. Chawla is admitted to practice law in New York and the United Kingdom.
Mr. Panganiban is Of Counsel to the firm. He concentrates his practice on technology transactions, including software licensing, ERP implementations, software development, and OEM transactions. Mr. Panganiban was formerly Corporate Counsel for Cable and Wireless, PLC where he drafted and negotiated a variety of technology transactions including hosting agreements and content delivery agreements.
Mr. Panganiban was also a member of the Legal/Contracts Department of SAP America where he drafted and negotiated hundreds of ERP licensing and implementation agreements. Mr. Panganiban graduated from the Chicago-Kent College of Law where he was Articles Editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property. He is admitted to practice in Illinois.

E. Jerisat is Of Counsel to the Firm. Mr. Jerisat holds a masters degree in
Intellectual Property Law from the John Marshall Law School, a certificate
of Intellectual Property from Franklin Pierce Law School, a law degree from
the University Of Miami School Of Law, and a bachelor's degree in chemical
engineering.
David W. Schmidt is a law clerk for the Firm. Mr. Schmidt received a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from Columbia University. He expects to graduate from the Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2009 with a certificate in intellectual property law.
Teymour El Tahry is a law clerk for the Firm. He has a B.S. in engineering and computer science from the University of Michigan. Mr. El Tahry is in his third year at Chicago-Kent College of Law where he is pursuing a certificate in intellectual property law and is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property.
